From Commitment to Action: BAP’s Role in Supporting Post-Disaster Recovery in Aceh
In late 2025, severe flooding and landslides struck Aceh Province, Indonesia, causing widespread damage to communities, infrastructure, and livelihoods. Despite the scale of the disaster, international emergency assistance remained limited, creating an urgent need for practical support on the ground. As a company operating in Indonesia, Berlian Amal Perkasa (BAP) recognized this gap and reaffirmed its commitment to contribute directly to recovery efforts, particularly by addressing the critical shortage of heavy equipment needed for debris and mud clearance.
In response to coordination with stakeholders, BAP took the initiative to deliver voluntary support by deploying two telehandlers, supported by experienced operators and on-site supervision. In addition, BAP also supported the deployment of a Morooka MST 800VD unit to further enhance operational capability in challenging terrain conditions. The agreement, finalized in December 2025, emphasized operational safety, employee protection, and clear responsibilities among all parties involved. This initiative reflects BAP’s commitment not only to operational excellence, but also to responsible and sustainable corporate engagement with local communities.
The successful execution of the deployment was made possible through strong collaboration with partners and local authorities. BAP worked closely with its partners to support sea transportation, while the Aceh Provincial Government facilitated land transportation from the port to the disaster-affected areas. Through this collective effort, BAP was able to mobilize equipment from Jakarta to Aceh efficiently and begin on-site operations in severely impacted regions such as Pidie Jaya and Bireuen.
Through this initiative, BAP reaffirmed its long-term commitment to supporting communities in times of crisis. Beyond immediate recovery activities, BAP’s management is committed to sharing field insights with Japanese companies and Indonesia–Japan stakeholders to encourage broader private-sector participation. BAP believes that meaningful recovery is built on partnership, and the company remains dedicated to contributing its resources, expertise, and strong network to support sustainable recovery in Aceh, and sincerely hopes for a speedy recovery and reconstruction of the affected communities.
